Remember who
you are

Life’s struggles and traumas can feel overwhelming at times. Sadness, worry, shame, and obsessive thinking can cause us to lose touch with who we are at our core. Many of us have tried numerous psychiatric and psychological treatments to no avail — ketamine therapy may offer help where other treatments have failed.

Ketamine has been hailed as

arguably the most important discovery in half a century

for its rapid mood-elevating effects in treatment-resistant depression. Its well documented record of safety and efficacy make it an appealing alternative or complement to conventional treatments.

At Innate Ketamine Therapy, we use ketamine in the treatment of depression, suicidal thinking, anxiety, PTSD, and OCD to peel back the layers and help you to get back in touch with the person you were born as — your Innate self.

  • “The use of ketamine therapy for anxiety was new to me as my husband embarked on a series of treatments after a cancer diagnosis. I was so impressed by the effectiveness of the treatment in such a short period of time. His overall attitude did an about face, from cranky and anxious to relaxed and positive about life again.”

  • “I am so grateful for the nurturing care I received from Dr. Spitzer during my ketamine therapy. His medical expertise and empathetic support during and after the ketamine sessions was instrumental in resolving the severe anxiety, depression and anger that had developed after my cancer diagnosis. His thoughtful follow-up and assistance has helped me to sustain a feeling of optimism, peace and happiness.”

  • “I've been a client of Carl's for several years and consider him a true guide back to the north star of myself. In my experience (and I've had many), it's rare to find a practitioner who blends wisdom, medical expertise and a trust in the client's own experiences as seamlessly as Carl. He has offered a light out of darkness serving as a trusted, grounded and compassionate ally, consistently urging me forward into both the known and unknown. Later, I was able to benefit from work alongside of Tia as well. Both form an authentic, safe, and cohesive team together. Highest of recommendations.”

  • “My experience at Innate was profound and so helpful. The protocol is perfect…loving, kind, with a feeling of holding and support, and yet totally non-intrusive. My aftermath has been loving, calm, peaceful, and most importantly, I feel like myself, the person I know I am, but can’t alway get to.”

What is ketamine?

Ketamine was approved by the FDA in 1970 as a surgical anesthetic. It has unique properties of “dissociation”— leaving patients less aware of their bodies, while sending their minds on often fantastic journeys — that make it ideal for its job as an anesthetic.

Around 2000, clinicians became aware that in many people, ketamine provides a profound and rapid antidepressant effect that lasts much longer than the medicine itself, which leaves the system in just a few hours. It works through a different neurotransmitter system than conventional antidepressant medication.

Unlike most psychiatric medications, which are taken daily, ketamine is given intermittently. In the first 2 – 3 weeks, we'll start the medicine to see if your symptoms begin to improve and to understand if you experience side effects. Then, if the medication helps, we will talk about how often you should come back for additional treatments.
